Winter Morning Poem
by Ogden Nash

Winter is the king of showmen
Turning tree stumps into snow men
And houses into birthday cakes
And spreading sugar over lakes
Smooth and clean and frosty white
The world looks good enough to bite
That's the season to be young
Catching snowflakes on your tongue
Snow is snowy when it's snowing
I'm sorry it's slushy when it's going

Beautiful snow scene. I'm surprise folks aren't out enjoying drinks on your deck.

I remember seeing things like that first hand. I like pictures of it better.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words. I have to agree with Howard about it being better in pictures!

CGP: I love Ogden Nash. I started reading his poetry when I was a kid.

Marvin has a point about drinks out on the deck...maybe I can arrange a little cocktail party.

I like winter in photos too. Do not expect me to be outside at your winter outdoor cocktail party. I'll admire the scene from your kitchen!
