From the Associated Press

"Toyota announced early Tuesday it would recall about 437,000 Prius and other hybrid vehicles to fix brake problems. There have been about 200 complaints in Japan and the U.S. about a delay when the brakes in the Prius were pressed in cold conditions and on some bumpy roads."

other hybrid vehicles = my car

I told you it wasn't the gas pedal for my car, it's the brakes.

I wondered if this was what your story was leading too...I hope it doesn't take long to get them fixed! Disappointing with a new car.

I too had a feeling after hearing the news last night! Am so sorry, not fun. Am so glad mine is an older old!

It is disappointing. I read online today that State Farm notified the government about the trend of unexpected acceleration in 2007. On Marketplace today, the guy said something interesting. He said it looks like Toyota has been dithering over this, but the problems all have something in common that I even mentioned in my 1st post: the problem is not replicable. All they had was anecdotal evidence to go on - how do you fix that? So, OK. I can see that, too. I had to go, but I wanted to listen to the rest of that interview on NPR.

I too wondered if this was where you story was going. It seems like there are multiple problems going on. I have own Toyotas since 1981, a Corolla and 2 Camrys. My 2001 doesn't have any issues and the only other recall was on one Camry's brakes. I do have to say that in the years friends have had other makes of cars, they had more trouble and recalls than I have had. I think there is a denial within the company and they didn't act when they should have....but will I buy a Ford or a Chevy.. I don't think so....
